The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Monday will hold a virtual briefing for local media on the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the South-Central Florida Metroplex. The project proposes changes to air traffic procedures for Tampa (TPA), St. Pete-Clearwater (PIE) and Sarasota Bradenton International airports. The agency also will talk about upcoming virtual workshops where the public can learn more about the Draft EA and ask questions of agency experts.

On May 11, the FAA posted the Draft EA and opened a 60-day public comment period for the South-Central Florida Metroplex, the agency’s plan to modernize air traffic procedures for TPA, PIE, SRQ and 18 additional airports in the southern half of the state.
