Former Prime Inc. dispatcher admits to stealing identities of 500 truck drivers to embezzle $300K

A former Prime Inc. dispatcher pleaded guilty this week to a years-long scheme to steal funds from the fuel accounts of hundreds of truck drivers.

On Tuesday, Corey Hendrickson pleaded guilty to charges of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, according to the Springfield Citizen.

Between September 9, 2016, to August 17, 2021, Hendrickson reportedly embezzled $298,738 through 1,078 fraudulent transactions.

Authorities say that while Hendrickson was employed as a dispatcher for trucking company Prime, Inc., he was able to access the social security numbers of approximately 500 truck drivers and used that information to take money from their ComData fuel accounts. The stolen funds were allegedly used for personal expenses.

While the money belonged to Prime, Hendrickson is also accused of stealing the personal information of the truck drivers.

Hendrickson could face up to two decades in prison.

In addition to his work as a fleet dispatcher, Hendrickson was also the Mayor of Willard, Missouri from 2015 to 2021. He resigned from the Willard Board of Aldermen on Tuesday.
