A truck driver is dead after being crushed by his own tractor trailer in Indiana on Wednesday. 

The accident happened on August 23rd in Gary, Indiana just before 2:20 p.m. on the 1000 block of Colfax Street. 

Gary police say that the 45-year-old truck driver was behind his truck opening the trailer doors when the rig began to roll. The truck driver reportedly tried to stop the truck from rolling, but was crushed in the process, reported NWI Times.

The driver became trapped between a GMC pickup truck and the trailer, killing him. 

The truck driver’s identity has not been released. Police are still investigating the incident.
